Luke Shelley
In my early practice, my core inspiration stemmed from my familiarity with the marine environment surrounding the Central Coast. With maturity, my sense of discovery grew, and my inspiration expanded into experiencing less-familiar environments. I regularly travel to experience the diverse landscapes and habitats of Outback Australia and from these experiences I get my inspiration.
My works are aimed at expressing my sense of discovery within these varied landscapes through museum-like studies of actual specimens (human artefacts, flora and fauna) gathered in various locations.
